Minister Georg Georgiev Participated in the 32nd Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Vienna

Minister Georg Georgiev took part in the annual meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), held in Vienna under the Chairmanship of Finland. In a year marking the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Helsinki Final Act, which enshrines the fundamental principles of the European security architecture, the discussions were once again dominated by Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine and its devastating consequences for Europe’s security and for the Organisation itself.

The meeting took place at a crucial moment for the international efforts aimed at ending the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine. Allies reaffirmed that the Alliance remains the fundamental guarantor of credible deterrence, collective defence and sustained transatlantic unity. They also reiterated the principle that decisions concerning NATO are taken solely by the Allies.
