Minister Georg Georgiev Participated in the 32nd Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Vienna
Minister Georg Georgiev took part in the annual meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), held in Vienna under the Chairmanship of Finland.
In a year marking the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Helsinki Final Act, which enshrines the fundamental principles of the European security architecture, the discussions were once again dominated by Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine and its devastating consequences for Europe’s security and for the Organisation itself.

During her visit to Vienna, on 4 December 2025 Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova also held political consultations with Austria’s Minister for Europe, Integration and Family, Claudia Plakolm, on topics from the European agenda. The two sides discussed progress in the EU enlargement process, based on the principle of own merits; the next Multiannual Financial Framework of the Union for the period 2028–2034; the future of Europe, including the debate on EU reforms; as well as security-related issues.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, took part in the meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers held on 3 December in Brussels. The meeting took place at a crucial moment for the international efforts aimed at ending the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine.
Allies reaffirmed that the Alliance remains the fundamental guarantor of credible deterrence, collective defence and sustained transatlantic unity. They also reiterated the principle that decisions concerning NATO are taken solely by the Allies.

On 2 December 2025 in Vienna, Austria, Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova took part in the 5th Vienna Forum for Countering Segregation and Extremism in the Context of Integration. This year’s edition of the Vienna Forum was dedicated to strengthening European cooperation in countering extremism, foreign influence and online radicalisation. The event is held in the context of the implementation of the EU Internal Security Strategy, presented by the European Commission on 1 April 2025, and the broader effort to reinforce European resilience.
