This is valid for all Bulgarian citizens with uninterrupted health insurance rights in the European Union member states, the European Economic Area and Switzerland. Travelers must have valid personal documents, tickets and insurance, as well as a European Health Insurance Card.
We advise you to get a health, tourist, travel or other insurance in advance.
If you are detained by local authorities for some reason, you have the right to demand contact with the diplomatic mission or consular representation of the Republic of Bulgaria in Madrid, as well as the General Consulate in Valencia. A consulate officer will contact you in the shortest time possible.
In the occasion of death of a Bulgarian citizen in Andorra the consular service at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria will offer you assistance and help you to arrange the formalities.

Certification and Legalisation
Bulgaria and the Principality of Andorra are parties under the Hague Convention on the abolishment of the requirement for legalization of foreign public documents dated 1961. Thus, the documents/deeds comprised in each of the two countries shall be provided with a seal – “Apostille” of the relevant Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as translated and verified under the relevant order, to serve before the competent authorities of the other country.
Emergency Travel Document
In extraordinary situations, such as damaged, lost or stolen passport, Bulgarian citizens can apply for an Emergency Travel Document at the embassy of any EU member state in Andorra.
