Tonga has tropical climate characterised by the absence of particular yearly seasons in the proper sense of the word, but instead – by alternation of rainy and dry periods. The rainy period lasts from December until April with possible frequent tropical storms, which have an adverse effect on the local infrastructure and the road traffic.

There are no special recommendations for immunisations, except for yellow fever, when you come from contaminated regions. Nevertheless, it is recommended to have a general vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis А and B, and typhus. There is no malaria in Tonga.
