He has passed through all levels of the diplomatic service, served as Secretary of the Permanent Commission “Bulgaria–Bavaria”, and as Adviser in the Political Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He also worked in 1992 at the Ministry of Defence among the first civilian officials appointed through a competitive procedure.
He specialized in the Federal Republic of Germany, the United States and the French Republic. He is a recipient of high state orders of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Austria, the Kingdom of Spain and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, as well as numerous distinctions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Defence and others.
