Bulgaria actively and consistently supports and will continue to support the European integration of Montenegro. We highly appreciate the efforts of the Montenegrin Government and the progress towards EU accession, said Minister Daniel Mitov during his meeting with Aleksander Pejovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro and Chief Negotiator for Montenegro’s Accession to the EU.

Bulgarian Ambassador in Delhi Petko Doykov, accredited also to the Maldives, presented his credentials to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. The official ceremony took place on 9 November at the President’s Office in Malé.

Bulgaria re-elected member of the ITU Council
Bulgaria has been re-elected a member state of the Council of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for a seventh consecutive time.The elections took place during the ongoing ITU Plenipotentiary Conference in Busan, Republic of Korea. Theconference is the supreme governing body of the Union and is held every four years.

General Affairs Council discussed the 2030 climate and energy policy framework
Deputy Foreign Minister Rumen Alexandrov participated in the General Affairs Council meeting on 21 October in Luxembourg. The Council dealt with the preparations of the next European Council meeting of 23-24 October which is expected to reach a final agreement on a new climate and energy policy framework for 2030. Foreign Ministers discussed draft conclusions of the European Council on the subject.
