Ambassador Petko Doykov presented his credentials to the President of the Maldives

Bulgarian Ambassador in Delhi Petko Doykov, accredited also to the Maldives, presented his credentials to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. The official ceremony took place on 9 November at the President’s Office in Malé.
At the following meeting, the Bulgarian side expressed satisfaction with the state of bilateral dialogue and desire for its further development in all spheres of mutual interest. The two sides emphasized on the importance of high and highest level visits and the need to strengthen trade and economic contacts. In this context, Ambassador Doykov invited once again the Maldivian Foreign Minister Ms Dunya Maumoon to visit our country.
Later in the day the Bulgarian Ambassador was received by the Speaker of People's Majlis (Parliament) Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed of Maldives.
In 2014, we mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Bulgaria for first time accredits an ambassador to the Maldives.
