Russia declared Bulgarian diplomats and technical staff persona non grata
The Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Moscow Atanas Krastin was invited to a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation today, where he was informed that four Bulgarian diplomats and ten technical staff from our diplomatic representations in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg, as well as from the Industry Centre of the Republic of Bulgaria in Moscow have been declared persona non grata. They should leave the country within 120 hours.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria informs Bulgarian citizens that in connection with an emergency situation, the Certifications and Legalizations sector, at 2, Alfred Nobel Str., will work with reduced reception hours for citizens until 2:30 p.m., starting from 04.08. until 15.08.2022

Deputy Minister Georgiev accepted copies of credentials of the Ambassador of the state of Libya
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vasil Georgiev, accepted copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Libya in Sofia, Abu Bakr Ahmad Said Salih. During the meeting, the two discussed the potential for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The annual Diplomats and Friends golf tournament under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs was held on July 30, 2022 at Pirin Golf Club Bansko. The players were divided into two divisions - Diplomats and Friends, and in each of the groups there were two handicap groups.

The Association of Bulgarian Schools Abroad (ABSA) celebrated 15 years since its foundation. On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Minister Teodora Genchovska, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Irena Dimitrova awarded the President of ABSA, Dr. Irina Boteva-Vladikova with a golden badge of honour of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and presented an honorary diploma to BNU Cyril and Methodius in Vienna.
