Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov Congratulates the Newly Elected Bulgarian Youth Dele-gates to the United Nations for the 2025–2026 Term

On 11 June 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Nikolay Pavlov took part in the final stage of the selection competition “Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the United Nations 2025–2026.” The newly elected youth delegates for the 2025–2026 term are Ms Vyara Trifonova and Mr Viktor Tsvetanov.
In his address, Deputy Minister Pavlov wished the new delegates every success in their upcoming term, noting that they are about to embark on an important journey — one that involves both promoting and spreading the values of the United Nations and strengthening the Organisation’s standing in Bulgaria. He affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria remains committed to supporting this important initiative, as it firmly believes that young people must be key partners in decision-making processes not only at the national, but also at the global level. It was emphasised that the “Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the United Nations” programme not only facilitates youth engagement, but also opens new horizons for development and personal growth.
The “Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the United Nations” programme was established in 2006 by the United Nations Association of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria. Bulgaria is among 40 countries participating in the UN Youth Delegate Programme, placing it among the international leaders that recognise young people as equal partners in national and international decision-making processes.
Bulgaria plays an active role in efforts to empower young people and to create opportunities for their meaningful participation in decision-making. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to invest in developing the leadership potential of young people and their involvement in governance processes – a vital component in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and ensuring global peace.
