In regard to the joint position stated by the Ambassadors of France and Germany, in which issues of importance to Bulgaria were raised, I called at my own initiative a subsequent meeting with Mr. Philippe Autié and Mr. Matthias Höpfner.

Meeting between Minister Kristian Vigenin and Ambassador Marco Conticelli

Bulgarian ambassadors to face hearings in Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee
Bulgarian ambassadors should be required to attend hearings by the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee before they are appointed. This was discussed by members of the committee and Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin, who attended a meeting of the committee at its invitation to give MPs a presentation on the priorities in his activities.

Bulgaria signs the UN Arms Trade Treaty
Bulgaria is the 77th country to sign the Arms Trade Treaty, adopted by the UN General Assembly on April 2, 2013. The Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations in NewYork, Stephan Tafrov, signed the Arms Trade Treaty on behalf of the Republic of Bulgaria on July 2, 2013.
