Minister Kristian Vigenin met with the new Ukrainian Foreign Minister

At today’s NATO Foreign Ministers meeting in Brussels, Minister Kristian Vigenin held talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Pavlo Klimkin.
Minister Klimkin informed about the current situation in Ukraine and pointed out that the planned changes in the constitution will grant more rights not only to the regions, but also to the different social groups, including ethnic Bulgarians.
Minister Vigenin expressed Bulgaria’s support for the implementation of President Petro Poroshenko’s peace plan and for the stabilization of Ukraine.
The two top diplomats agreed to conduct political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and Ukraine. The consultations will aim at identifying possibilities for providing expert support from Bulgaria to Ukraine in the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
The ministers also discussed relevant issues in the field of energy security.
