Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister laid flowers at the monument to the Bulgarians who died in the Ilinden ship tragedy
Bulgarian Foreign Minister Vigenin laid flowers at the monument to the Bulgarian tourists who died in the tragic accident involving the ship Ilinden, which sank in Lake Ohrid in September 2009.

Active regional co-operation is of crucial importance for the European future of the Western Balkans
“We have need of more Europe. The difficulties that the EU currently is undergoing should not weaken the dynamics of the enlargement process. On the contrary, the promotion of European integration of the countries of the Western Balkans should become part of the solution to the crisis,” Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin told a meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries of the South East Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP), held in Ohrid.

German authorities handed over stolen Roman plaque to Bulgarian Consulate in Frankfurt
On May 22, at the Ministry of Science and Arts of the Federal State of Hesse, State Secretary Ingmar Jung presented the Bulgarian Consul with a Roman silver medal of what is known as the Danube horseman, dated II - III century CE, that had been stolen from Bulgaria. At the ceremony, a protocol was signed for the return of the cultural object to its rightful owner, the Republic of Bulgaria.
