Kristian Vigenin to participate in a meeting of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region

Minister Kristian Vigenin will take part in the meeting of foreign ministers of the 14 countries participating in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region on October 28 in Bucharest. The ministers of foreign affairs and regional development together with the Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn will review the current achievements and challenges, assess the progress to date and discuss the future implementation of the Strategy for the Danube Region.

Among the main objectives of the Strategy are the protection of the environment and the achievement of prosperity in the Danube region. Its contribution is important for the better integration between the EU Member States and for enhancing cooperation with countries outside the Union. So far activities in the field of transport, competitiveness, combating pollution and crime have been defined as successful within the framework of the Strategy.
