Kristian Vigenin: We fully support the European integration process of Montenegro

"Montenegro can serve as a good example for the other countries in the region in terms of its approach to the negotiations with the European Union. We welcome and encourage the progress made by the country in the accession process and a key factor for this is the political will for reform. " This was said today by the foreign minister Kristian Vigenin during his meeting with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Chief Negotiator of Montenegro Aleksandar Pejovic . "We consistently support the European perspective of all countries in the region and we are happy of the progress achieved in the process. We welcome the commitment of Montenegro to maintain good neighborly relations with other enlargement countries and the neighboring EU Member States, “ Vigenin said .

Vigenin and Pejovic highly evaluated the bilateral cooperation based on the Memorandum for cooperation in the field of European and Euro- Atlantic integration. The two emphasized their desire to continue and further develop their relations. Aleksandar Pejovic thanked for the support of Bulgaria to Montenegro in its path towards European integration. The guest said that the support of the neighboring countries is very important for the EU accession process of Montenegro.

During the conversation, they discussed the possibilities for expanding cooperation in the fields of energy and justice and strengthening the administrative capacity. The prospects for the development of the regional cooperation were also examined.
