 "A total of 30 of the 36 Bulgarian citizens and their family members who were successfully evacuated with the first possible group from Gaza to Egypt are already in Bulgaria. Six of them have stayed in Cairo with relatives of their own accord", Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel said.

Following the successful withdrawal from Gaza Strip on 1 November this year in the first possible group of 36 Bulgarian citizens and their family members, the coordinated efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bulgarian Embassy in Cairo to transport them to Bulgaria are continuing.

"A total of 36 people — Bulgarian citizens and members of their families were successfully removed from the territory of Gaza today and are now safe in Egypt. The 37th person has declared his/her wish to stay", this was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel.

Mariya Gabriel: Solidarity in hard times is most valuable

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel met with representatives of the American Jewish Committee and leading Jewish organisations in Los Angeles. The meeting was held in the context of the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the United States and the 80th anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews during World War II.
