Minister Ivan Kondov took part in the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Ivan Kondov took part in the ordinary meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) held on 22 May 2023 in Brussels. Within the framework of the FAC, topical issues on the EU agenda were discussed, including the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the Horn of Africa, Central Asia, Tunisia, the OSCE Chairmanship in 2024, etc. The EU foreign ministers also held an informal lunch with the foreign ministers of the six Western Balkan countries, as well as a discussion with the EU Special Envoy for the Implementation of Sanctions, David

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostadin Kodzhabashev participated in the solemn celebration of two significant anniversaries for the cooperation between Bulgaria and Albania — 110 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations and 30 years since the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Albania, which took place at the Sofia City Art Gallery. The Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Ms. Megi Fino, was also a guest of honour at the event.

Minister Ivan Kondov: Europe's strength lies in our unity and unification
The Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2018 has given a strong impetus to the European integration of the Western Balkan countries, but the enlargement policy should not be seen as an automatic means to tackle the political, economic and social challenges in the region. It can only offer transformative power by triggering large-scale democratic reforms in the best interests of citizens. This was underlined by Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov at the opening of today's international forum in Sofia ‘EU meets the Balkans’.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov opened on 16 May 2023 the exhibition ‘Fragments of Modern Art in Montenegro from the Collection of the National Museum’. The exhibition is visiting Bulgaria for the first time on the initiative of the State Institute for Culture at the Minister of Foreign Affairs and with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Podgorica. Special guests at the opening ceremony were Danijela Đurović, spokesperson of the Parliament of Montenegro and the Director of the National Museum Jakša Ćalasan.
