Minister Georg Georgiev Takes Part in the EU Foreign Affairs Council Meeting
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, took part in the regular meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, held in Brussels. The meeting opened with the traditional videoconference with the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, with whom the EU’s foreign ministers discussed the current situation in Ukraine and Russia’s military aggression. The subsequent discussion was also joined by the EU Special Envoy for Sanctions, David O’Sullivan.

Mira Raycheva-Shekerdzhieva Elected Judge of the UN Dispute Tribunal with the Support of 119 Member States
On 17 November 2025, the United Nations General Assembly elected, with the highest result, the Bulgarian candidate – Judge Mira Raycheva-Shekerdzhieva of the Supreme Administrative Court – as a part-time judge of the UN Dispute Tribunal. Her candidacy received the support of 119 UN Member States. The candidate from Zambia achieved the same high result.

Bilateral Political Consultations Between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Federal Republic of Germany
Today, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Georg Georgiev met with the Minister of State for European Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr Gunther Krichbaum, who was in Sofia to hold bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.

General Affairs Council meeting
The ministers for European affairs met today in Brussels for the regular monthly meeting of the General Affairs Council. Bulgaria was represented by its Permanent Representative to the EU, Ambassador Rumen Alexandrov. The agenda included preparations for the December European Council, the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), EU–UK relations, the European Commission’s legislative planning, and the annual Rule of Law dialogue.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, received in a protocol meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Bulgaria, Her Excellency Ms Marie Dumoulin.

Essay Competition “Bulgaria and Asia” Under the Patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs
On 13 November 2025, at a ceremony held in the Aula of the Rectorate of Sofia University, the winners of the essay competition “Bulgaria and Asia”, organised under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, were awarded. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, received today in meeting the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Bulgaria, Her Excellency Ms Listiana Operananta.
During the discussion, both sides outlined the important significance of the long-standing and stable bilateral relations and emphasised their readiness for further development across a wide range of spheres. Minister Georg Georgiev Holds Farewell Meeting with the Ambassador of Poland to Bulgaria, H.E. Maciej Szymański
On 12 November, Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev held a farewell meeting with the Ambassador of Poland to Bulgaria, His Excellency Mr Maciej Szymański.
