On 28 and 29 June 2024, Deputy Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov presented Bulgaria at this year’s Dubrovnik Forum 2024. The event was attended by representatives from over 28 countries and international organisations, academia, media and business. This year the forum was held under the slogan ‘Dire straits and safe passages’.

The EU condemns the totally unfounded decision by the Russian authorities to block access to over eighty European media in Russia. This decision further restricts access to free and independent information and expands the already severe media censorship in Russia. The banned European media work according to journalistic principles and standards. They give factual information, also to Russian audiences, including on Russia’s illegal war of aggression against Ukraine

An EU General Affairs Council is held in Luxembourg

Deputy Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov represented Bulgaria at the regular meeting of the EU General Affairs Council, which took place in Luxembourg today. The European ministers prepared the upcoming European Council meeting on 27—28 June, discussed the rule of law in Hungary, as well as a draft directive on transparency of representation of interests on behalf of third countries.
