On 16 December 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms. Nevyana Miteva attended the traditional briefing of the Bulgarian youth delegates, participants in the ‘Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the United Nations’ Programme, established in 2006 by the United Nations Association in Bulgaria and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria. Official Ceremony for the Presentation of Letters of Credence by Ambassador Tihomir Stoytchev to His Majesty King Charles III

On December 5, 2024, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland H.E. Tihomir Stoytchev presented his Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Charles III at Buckingham Palace. During the meeting with His Majesty King Charles III, Ambassador Stoytchev emphasised the cultural ties and the long history of over 145 years of diplomatic relations that bind our two countries. The Joint Declaration signed in October 2023 elevated these relations to a "strategic partnership".

Deputy Foreign Minister Elena Shekerletova represented Bulgaria at the ordinary December meeting of the General Affairs Council, which took place today in Brussels. In the last for the year meeting of this format of the Council, under the presidency of Hungary, the main topics of discussion of the ministers were the conclusions for the regular meeting of the European leaders on 19 December this year, the conclusions on enlargement policy, EU—UK relations and the Future of Europe.

JOINT COMMUNIQUÉ OF THE MINISTRIES OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA AND ROMANIA

The Republic of Bulgaria and Romania strongly welcome the decision adopted unanimously today, December 12th, by the Justice and Home Affairs Council, on completing the process of full integration of the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania to the Schengen area. It is a historic decision that completes the process of accession of the two countries to the area of free movement within EU, a major objective of both the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania since their accession to the European Union.
