Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova held a meeting with the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Bulgaria, Yosef Levi Sphari. The two confirmed the friendly relations between Bulgaria and Israel, based on historical ties and mutual respect between the two nations.
The conversation discussed the situation in the Middle East, the development of the situation in Gaza, and the situation in the West Bank.
Minister Petrova stressed the need for a sustainable cessation of hostilities, unimpeded access to humanitarian aid and protection of the civilian population. She reiterated Bulgaria's support, in line with the EU's position, for a two-state solution as a basis for lasting peace.
