MFA Announcement
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria announces that, at present, there is no information regarding injured Bulgarian citizens in connection with the earthquake in Myanmar, which led to the collapse of a skyscraper in Bangkok. The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Hanoi is closely monitoring the development of the situation.

Georg Georgiev to the Ambassadors of the Arab States in Sofia: The Holy Muslim Month of Ramadan Reminds Us of the Importance of Dialogue, Cooperation and Shared Responsibility in Building a More Peaceful and Prosperous World
"It is an honour to hold this first meeting with you during the holy month of Ramadan - a time of reflection, generosity and unity; a time when we reaffirm the values of compassion, mutual respect, and solidarity; a time that reminds us of the value of dialogue, cooperation and shared responsibility in building a more peaceful and prosperous world." With these words, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev addressed the ambassadors of the Arab states accredited in Sofia at the beginning of the solemn iftar dinner, which he hosted in their honour.

Ambassador Petko Draganov Awarded the Highest Honour by the President of the Re-public of Korea
On March 27, 2025, during a ceremony held at the residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Bulgaria, H.E. Dong-be Kim conferred upon Ambassador Petko Draganov the highest honour awarded by the President of the Republic of Korea – the Gwanghwa Medal, First Class – in recognition of his outstanding service in diplomacy and his contribution to the development of bilateral relations.

Ambassador Hristo Kraevski Presented Letters of Credence to the President of the Re-public of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu
At a formal ceremony held on March 27, 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Kosovo, H.E. Mr Hristo Kraevski, presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Ms Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu.

Minister Georg Georgiev Holds Farewell Meeting with the Ambassador of Italy, H.E. Ms Giuseppina Zarra
Minister Georg Georgiev received the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Bulgaria, H.E. Ms Giuseppina Zarra, today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the conclusion of her term in office. The Minister expressed his high appreciation for Ambassador Zarra’s contribution to the development and strengthening of bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Italy.

Political Consultations Between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria and France
On March 27, 2025, bilateral political consultations were held in Sofia between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic.
On the Bulgarian side, the consultations were led by the Director General of the European Affairs Directorate, Yordan Parvanov, while the French delegation was headed by the Director of the European Union Directorate, Vincent Guerain.

Bulgaria's support for Egypt's candidacy for UNESCO Director-General
The Republic of Bulgaria has endorsed the candidacy of Professor Khaled El-Enany for the post of Director-General of UNESCO in the elections scheduled to take place in November 2025. The Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, conveyed Bulgaria's support in an official letter to Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptians Abroad. The letter was presented by Ms Maria Angelieva, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, during political consultations held in Cairo on 22nd April 2025. A copy of the letter was circulated to the Permanent Delegations of UNESC

Minister Georg Georgiev Holds Telephone Conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatti
Minister Georg Georgiev held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptians Abroad of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Badr Abdelatti. This was the second such conversation between the two ministers, following an earlier exchange just over a month ago.

Deputy Minister Maria Angelieva Chairs Meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Mechanism for Bulgaria's Accession to the OECD
On March 25, 2025, a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Mechanism for Bulgaria's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired by Deputy Minister Maria Angelieva.
The participants in the meeting reviewed the progress achieved within the accession process. The outcomes of completed technical reviews and missions were discussed, alsong with preparations for upcoming technical assessments in the months ahead.

Georg Georgiev Following His Meeting with the Slovak Foreign Minister: Slovakia is Our EU Partner and NATO Ally - Our Cooperation Remains Active and Productive
"Slovakia is our partner in the European Union and a NATO ally, we maintain active and fruitful cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels. The friendly relations between our two countries are founded on deep historical and cultural ties between our peoples." This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev following his meeting with his Slovak counterpart Juraj Blanár, who arrived in Sofia today for a one-day working visit.
