Position of the Spokesperson of the MFA on media publications undermining the credibility of the Diplomatic Service
In relation to media publications and comments of representatives of political forces regarding ‘outrageous’ appointments in the MFA, we state that the quoted orders of the Foreign Minister are part of a routine procedure for the re-appointment of employees in the MFA in Sofia whose overseas mandate ends this year.

Minister Vigenin presented Bulgaria’s priorities within the Italian presidency of the EU
Bulgaria and Italy share many common positions on a number of issues on the EU agenda. Minister Vigenin sent a letter of condolences to his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman in regard to the violent deaths of three Israeli teens. It is unacceptable and inconceivable that such irrational and inhumane acts to be justified and understood, regardless of the reasons behind them, the letter says.

Minister Kristian Vigenin awards the golden badge of honor to Prof. Alexander Yankov
At a ceremony held today, Minister Kristian Vigenin awarded the golden badge of honor to one of the most prominent Bulgarian jurists, Professor Alexander Yankov. Theaward of the MFA is awarded to Professor Yankov for his outstanding contribution to the development of the Bulgarian diplomatic service, and on occasion of his 90 year anniversary.

NATO Foreign Ministers discussed Ukraine, Afghanistan, the partnerships and the Open Door policy
