Minister Ivan Kondov took part in the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Ivan Kondov took part in the ordinary meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) held on 22 May 2023 in Brussels. Deputy Minister Kodzhabashev participated in an event marking the 110th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Albania
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostadin Kodzhabashev participated in the solemn celebration of two significant anniversaries for the cooperation between Bulgaria and Albania — 110 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations and 30 years since the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Albania, which took place at the Sofia City Art Gallery. The Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Ms. Megi Fino, was also a guest of honour at the event.

Minister Ivan Kondov: Europe's strength lies in our unity and unification
The Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2018 has given a strong impetus to the European integration of the Western Balkan countries, but the enlargement policy should not be seen as an automatic means to tackle the political, economic and social challenges in the region. It can only offer transformative power by triggering large-scale democratic reforms in the best interests of citizens. This was underlined by Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov at the opening of today's international forum in Sofia ‘EU meets the Balkans’.
