Minister Vigenin met with UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova

Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin met today with the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Irina Bokova. They discussed the reform of the organization and the course of the campaign for Ms. Bokova to be re-elected to a second term as Director-General of UNESCO for the period 2013-2017.

Minister Kristian Vigenin brings into effecta Code of Conduct for members of the Diplomatic Service

As of today, a professional Code of Conduct is in effect for employees of the Diplomatic Service. Approval of such a code is envisagedin the Diplomatic Service Act. It includes rules of professional conduct forall employees of the Ministry and establishes a high standard ofcriteria for interactionwith citizens, institutions and non-governmental organisations in Bulgaria and abroad.

I fully subscribe to almost everything that the two ambassadors said, to what Mrs Reding said yesterday. There must be dialogue, Europe wants there to be stability and dialogue in Bulgaria and for political forces to unite around solving problems that affect the entire EU. These are related too to the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism, to Schengen, but also to the freedom of the media and the concentration of ownership in the media sector.
