On the occasion of the Day of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Service, Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev delivered an address at a formal reception held at the Boyana Residence. In the presence of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Prime Minister, members of the diplomatic corps, ministers, and members of parliament, Minister Georgiev underscored the importance of professionalism and continuity in Bulgaria’s foreign policy.

Farewell Meeting between Minister Georg Georgiev and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Dao Vibulpanich
On 22 July 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Georg Georgiev, held a farewell meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Bulgaria (resident in Bucharest), Her Excellency Dao Vibulpanich. Bulgaria’s top diplomat welcomed the Ambassador’s efforts to promote bilateral exchange during her tenure. In turn, Ambassador Vibulpanich expressed her appreciation for the effective support provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev Receives Delegation from the National Defence Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs a delegation from the National Defence Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, led by the Committee’s Chair, Mr Hulusi Akar. The parliamentary delegation from the Republic of Turkey is visiting Bulgaria at the invitation of the Defence Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Minister Georg Georgiev in London: “Bulgaria and the United Kingdom Deepen Their Strategic Partnership“
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr Georg Georgiev, held a bilateral working meeting with the UK Foreign Secretary, Mr David Lammy, during a one-day official visit to London at the invitation of the British Government. The meeting took place within the framework of the active political dialogue between the two countries, grounded in the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in October 2023.

Minister Georg Georgiev in London: Bulgaria and the United Kingdom Share Common Priorities for the Western Balkans
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr Georg Georgiev, held official meetings in London with the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Dame Karen Pierce, as well as with members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Bulgaria in the British Parliament.
During the discussions, it was reaffirmed that Bulgaria and the United Kingdom share common priorities regarding sustainable stability and the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries. “European integration is the only viable path to peace and prosperity in the region.

19th July – Day of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Bulgaria
Today we mark the Day of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Bulgaria – the date on which, in 1879, by Decree No. 1 of Prince Alexander I of Battenberg, the first structure of Bulgaria’s foreign policy administration was established. Since then, Bulgarian diplomacy has consistently defended the country’s national interests and contributed to its affirmation as a respected and dignified member of the international community.

EU General Affairs Council Meeting in Brussels
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms Elena Shekerletova represented Bulgaria at today’s regular meeting of the General Affairs Council of the European Union, held in Brussels. The ministers discussed key items on the Union’s agenda, including the draft Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for the period after 2027, the legislative simplification programme, and the regulation on language use in the EU.

Minister Georg Georgiev Meets with the Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan
Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Georg Georgiev received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Mr Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, who is visiting Bulgaria on the occasion of the ninth session of the Bulgarian–Armenian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation (16–18 July 2025, Sofia), in which he serves as the Armenian co-chair.
