Georg Georgiev: Bulgaria Consistently Contributes to Security, Stability, and Predictability in the Region

On the occasion of the Day of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Service, Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev delivered an address at a formal reception held at the Boyana Residence. In the presence of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Prime Minister, members of the diplomatic corps, ministers, and members of parliament, Minister Georgiev underscored the importance of professionalism and continuity in Bulgaria’s foreign policy.

On 22 July 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Georg Georgiev, held a farewell meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Bulgaria (resident in Bucharest), Her Excellency Dao Vibulpanich. Bulgaria’s top diplomat welcomed the Ambassador’s efforts to promote bilateral exchange during her tenure. In turn, Ambassador Vibulpanich expressed her appreciation for the effective support provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

19th July – Day of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Bulgaria

Today we mark the Day of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Bulgaria – the date on which, in 1879, by Decree No. 1 of Prince Alexander I of Battenberg, the first structure of Bulgaria’s foreign policy administration was established. Since then, Bulgarian diplomacy has consistently defended the country’s national interests and contributed to its affirmation as a respected and dignified member of the international community.
