Ambassador Petko Doykov presented his credentials to the President of Sri Lanka

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Delhi, Petko Doykov, who is accredited also for Sri Lanka, presented his credentials to President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The official ceremony took place on 9 September in the Presidential Secretariat Colombo 01.
In the following ceremony, Ambassador Doykov expressed satisfaction with the state of the bilateral dialogue and desire for its further development in all spheres of mutual interest. The 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Sri Lanka, which was celebrated in 2012, was also mentioned in the talks.
The participants expressed desire toenhance trade and economic relations, to which a visit of Foreign Minister G. L. Peiris to Bulgaria and a follow-up visit at the highest level will have undeniable contribution. President Rajapaksa confirmed the readiness of his country to intensify the relations with Bulgaria.
