Minister Vigenin discussed in Blagoevgrad the cross-border projects

Minister Kristian Vigenin visited today Blagoevgrad, where he met with the Governor Musa Palev and his Deputy Kostadin Durchov. The focus of the conversation was on the cross-border cooperation and the Governor introduced to Minister Vigenin the projects currently being implemented in Blagoevgrad. Their total value is around 80 million lev.

For his part, the Foreign Minister emphasized that the cross-border cooperation is a priority for the government. "In this cabinet we are trying to do the utmost to assist for the implementation of these projects," he said.

During the meeting they discussed also the  possibilities for improving the condition of the existing border checkpoints in the Blagoevgrad Province. Musa Palev explained that the opening of the Klepaloto border checkpoint is one of the three most important projects that need to be completed by the end of the term.

According to Minister Kristian Vigenin this is a priority not only for the region, but for the country as a whole, since the opening of the Klepaloto border checkpoint will support the expansion of the cross-border links and will have a positive impact on the development of the tourism in the region.
