Ambassador Marin Raykov presented his credentials to the Captain Regents of San Marino

At an official ceremony, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Italian Republic and the Republic of San Marino, Marin Raykov, presented his credentials to the Captain Regents Gian Carlo Capicchioni and Anna Maria Muccioli.

In his speech at the awarding of the letters,  Ambassador Raykov emphasized the prestige and standing of San Marino as the oldest republic in the world, a model of a free and democratic government.

After the ceremony, Ambassador Raykov and Captain Regents Capicchioni and Muccioli discussed the opportunities for development of the political dialogue and increasing cooperation.

At the previous meeting with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Pasquale Valentini, and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of San Marino they agreed on mutual visits and the participation of small and medium-sized companies in business forums in Bulgaria. Among the topics of discussion was also the preparation for signing of new bilateral treaties, including the Convention for the avoidance of double taxation which San Marino has signed with nearly 50 countries.

An emphasis was placed on the good cooperation of the two countries within international organizations, the agreements reached on he provision of  mutual support for the political positions and the applications for membership, including in the UN Security Council.
