Bulgaria and Russia signed a Program of cultural, educational and scientific cooperation

Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Vigenin and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Sofia, Yuri Isakov, signed today at the MFA of the Republic of Bulgaria a Program of cultural, educational and scientific cooperation between the two governments for the period 2012-2014.

"This is a document that will allow intensification of our cooperation in the field of education, culture and science. A more favorable conditions for the training of our students in Russia and back, for  exchange programs for graduates and faculty members  are provided, " the Foreign Minister said at the ceremony.

Kristian Vigenin emphasized that this year a successful program of cultural cooperationwas conducted within the framework of the 135th anniversary celebrations of the liberation of Bulgaria. "In 2014, we celebrate 135 years of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Russia and Bulgaria and I hope that on this occasion we will implement an ambitious cultural program," he added.

On his part , Ambassador Yuri Isakov expressed satisfaction with the excellent partnership and cooperation relations between Bulgaria and Russia in the field of culture and science. He gave as an example the significant events organized in 2013 within the Days of Sofia in Moscow. The Russian Ambassador pointed out that in the next year there are also plenty of commemorative events - 135 years of the adoption of the Tarnovo Constitution and the 90th anniversary of the consecration of the cathedral "St. Alexander Nevsky."
