Minister Kristian Vigenin met with Patriarch Neophyte

"I am honored to be here with you today. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highly appreciates the activity of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, especially where Bulgarians are away from their homeland. At such places, the Church is the spiritual core that keeps the connection to the roots alive." This was said by Minister Kristian Vigenin, who met with His Holiness Patriarch Neophyte and bishops of the Orthodox Church .
Minister Vigenin noted that the establishment of close relations between the state institutions and BOC can help Bulgarians in these difficult times of not only economic and social, but also spiritual crisis. "You are ambassadors of Bulgaria in the world," added the Foreign Minister.
His Holiness Patriarch Neophyte and the bishops thanked for the contribution and the commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, Kristian Vigenin emphasized the readiness and the willingness to continue also in future the good cooperation between the diplomatic institution, the Bulgarian missions abroad and BOC in preserving and strengthening the Bulgarian identity and traditions of our compatriots living abroad.
