Minister Velislava Petrova Holds Telephone Conversation with Egypt’s Top Diplomat Badr Abdelatty

Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr Badr Abdelatty.
During the conversation, which took place at the initiative of the Egyptian side, Minister Abdelatty congratulated Velislava Petrova on assuming office as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and wished her success in the performance of her official duties.
The two discussed the current agenda of bilateral relations and forthcoming concrete steps towards deepening political dialogue and expanding trade and economic cooperation in the context of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Arab Republic of Egypt. Particular emphasis was placed on holding the second session of the Joint Commission for Cooperation in Sofia, to be chaired by the two Foreign Ministers. The two top diplomats also exchanged views on some of the leading international issues directly affecting the national interests of both countries.
