Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova Holds Meeting with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bulgaria, Irene Plank

Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova held a meeting today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bulgaria, Irene Plank.
Among the leading topics discussed during the meeting were the deepening of cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, innovation and scientific research. Minister Petrova emphasised both her own desire and that of the new Bulgarian government to pursue a more focused approach in the field of economic diplomacy.
“It is indicative that Prime Minister Rumen Radev’s first official visit will take place in Germany,” Velislava Petrova noted. According to her, this confirms the strength of the economic and cultural ties between the two nations.
Current issues on the European agenda were also discussed during the meeting, including the EU Multiannual Financial Framework, regional connectivity, cooperation in the field of defence, as well as the EU enlargement process, based on the principle of own merits and the fulfilment of undertaken commitments.
