Bulgaria has confirmed its commitment to protect human rights

Today, at the 23rd session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, the Bulgarian delegation presented the voluntary Interim Report of Bulgaria on the implementation of recommendations made in the first Universal Periodic Review in 2010.
The statement pointed to the importance that Bulgaria attaches to the Council of Human Rights and the mechanism of the Universal Periodic Review of the international obligations of the Member States of the United Nations in the field of human rights. Efforts to implement the recommendations adopted by affirming the commitment to continue striving to improve the defence and protection of human rights in the country were highlighted.
