Political Consultations at Deputy Minister Level between the Ministries of Foreign Af-fairs of Bulgaria and Slovakia

On 10 April, 2025, political consultations were held in Bratislava between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Slovak Republic.
The Bulgarian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova, while the Slovak delegation was led by State Secretary Marek Eštok.
During the discussions, both sides reaffirmed their desire to maintain an active bilateral political dialogue and to deepen cooperation in the areas of economy, energy, education, science, innovation, culture and tourism.
Current topics from the European and international agenda were also discussed, including the future Multiannual Financial Framework of the EU, EU institutional reform, EU competitiveness, EU security and defence, EU enlargement, migration, Ukraine and others.
As part of her visit, Deputy Minister Shekerletova visited the Bulgarian Secondary School "Hristo Botev", where she met with students and teachers. In connection with the upcoming celebration of 24 May, 2025 - "Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture, and of Slavonic Literature" - she presented the school administration with a commemorative plaque and thematic gifts. The Deputy Minister also visited the Bulgarian Cultural Institute, where she held a working meeting with the Director of the Institute. They discussed opportunities for expanding cultural cooperation and promoting initiatives related to the popularization of Bulgarian culture abroad.
