Georg Georgiev Receives the Ambassador of the French Republic

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, held a protocol meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Bulgaria, His Excellency Mr Joël Meyer.
During the meeting, the excellent cooperation between the two countries across all areas of mutual interest was reaffirmed, including in the fields of economy, security and defence, energy, and culture.
The two discussed the new Roadmap to the Strategic Partnership Agreement between Bulgaria and France, signed in 2008, which is in its final stage of coordination and is expected to be signed soon. Minister Georgiev and Ambassador Meyer also exchanged views on current issues on the European and international agenda.
Minister Georgiev briefed the French Ambassador on the progress made in Bulgaria's accession to the Eurozone and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, emphasising that our country will continue to rely on France's support in this context.
