Deputy Minister Maria Angelieva Received Copies of the Credentials of the Ambassador of Laos to the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Mr. Mayboua Xayavong

On March 17, 2025, the Ambassador of Lao People’s Democratic Republic to Bulgaria, based in Berlin, H.E. Mr. Mayboua Xayavong, presented copies of his credentials to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Maria Angelieva.
During the conversation, the two sides expressed satisfaction with the traditionally friendly relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, which have a history of over half a century, and expressed a desire to restore political dialogue, which has not been active in recent years. The Lao side expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by Bulgaria during the post-war reconstruction of the country. Readiness was expressed for cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, tourism, and education.
During the meeting, the importance of cooperation between Bulgaria and Laos in multilateral UN frameworks, particularly in regard to mutual support for candidacies, was also emphasized.
