The need to continue support for Ukraine in its legitimate right to self-defense against Russian aggression was the main topic of today's meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev with the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark, Flemming Stender, the Republic of Finland, Kirsti Pohjankukka, and the Kingdom of Sweden, Katarina Rangnitt.
The countries united around the position that the war in Ukraine must end with the onset of a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace, based on the principles of international law and with full respect for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Minister Georgiev emphasized that nothing about Ukraine should be decided without Ukraine and a united and strong EU.
During the conversation, EU agenda topics, transatlantic cooperation, security, and defense were also discussed. Agreement was reached that the Transatlantic Partnership between the EU and the USA is fundamental to global security, and maintaining it is important for both sides in the context of increasing international challenges.
