Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel: Bulgaria stands in full solidarity with Romania

‘Sincere condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the explosion near Bucharest. We wish a promptly recovery to the injured. Bulgaria stands in full solidarity with its neighbour Romania and is ready to provide immediate medical support.’ This is what Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel wrote on her Twitter account regarding the explosions at a petrol station in Krevedija, near Bucharest.

We recall that two people died and 57 others were injured in the tragic accident.

At the initiative of the Foreign Ministry, Bulgaria has declared its readiness to accept 17 of the victims of the incident for treatment.

According to information from the Bulgarian Embassy in Romania, received through official channels from the competent Romanian authorities, there are no reports of Bulgarian citizens injured.

At the moment, there have been no signals requesting assistance from our compatriots in our representation abroad.

The Bulgarian Embassy in Romania is in constant contact with the local authorities and is monitoring the situation.
