Deputy Minister Tihomir Stoychev held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Viktor Temirbayev

On 23 August, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tihomir Stoychev received Viktor Temirbayev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Bulgaria They discussed a wide range of topics in the context of the excellent bilateral relations, including opportunities for strengthening trade and economic cooperation, including in the fields of energy and transport connectivity, cooperation in the fields of education, culture and tourism, as well as mutual support for candidacies to various international bodies and organisations.

Deputy Minister Stoychev emphasised that the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Kazakhstan, which entered into force in 2019, together with the EU Strategy for Central Asia, are a solid basis for deepening cooperation between our two countries not only within the EU, but also bilaterally.

An important topic during the talks was the holding of the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the fifth session of the joint Bulgarian-Kazakh intergovernmental commission for trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation. The general opinion was that the realisation of these two events would serve as an additional impetus for the active development of bilateral political and economic relations.
