The strengthening of the bilateral cooperation in the field of innovation and new technologies, Schengen and the euro zone were among the main topics of the meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Gabriel and the Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel.
Today, the Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister has participated in the Council of Foreign Affairs meeting of the European Union. Bettel confirmed to Maria Gabriel the support for Bulgaria for achieving a rapid accession to Schengen and a membership in the euro zone and highly appreciated the efforts of our country in this direction.
The Prime Minister of Luxembourg congratulated Maria Gabriel on the occasion of her assumption of office as a Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs in the regularly elected government and wished her success in the implementation of the new commitments.
For her part, the Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister introduced Bettel to the urgent tasks and priorities of the government and extended an invitation for a visit to our country to the Prime Minister of Luxembourg.
