Deputy Minister Petrova held a meeting with the Ambassador of Pakistan

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova received the Ambassador of Pakistan to Bulgaria Mariam Madiha Aftab. The topics of the meeting were the bilateral cooperation and interaction in international forums.
The two discussed the opportunities for deepening the bilateral relations, especially in the field of economic cooperation in sectors such as tourism, agriculture, technology and railway logistics. Emphasis was also placed on the development of student exchanges. The holding of a session of the Joint Economic Commission was discussed, as well as the organisation of political consultations in Sofia.
“The focus of our foreign policy is put on our partnership with the EU countries and the region, the current situation has proved to us that we need to diversify our relations and develop closer ties with the countries with great geographical distance, through which we will build broader stability and prosperity for a wider range of people,” Deputy Minister Petrova said. She highlighted as important the work of the two countries in international forums, based on the protection of human rights and the peaceful resolution of conflicts around the world.
