Deputy Minister Todor Churov received copies of the credentials of the Ambassador of Bangladesh

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Todor Churov accepted copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bulgaria M. Daud Ali, who is based in Romania.

Relations between Bulgaria and Bangladesh are characterized by traditional friendship and cooperation. Bulgaria was among the first countries to recognize the independence of Bangladesh in 1972, and in 2022 it will be 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

During the conversation, issues related to the development of bilateral cooperation were mentioned, including trade and economic relations, relations in the field of IT sector and communications. Among the topics discussed were business partnerships, labor migration and the challenges posed by the coronavirus.

Ambassador M. Daud Ali expressed special gratitude for the donation by Bulgaria of 270 000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine for Bangladesh in September 2021.

At the end of the meeting, Deputy Minister Churov assured Ambassador M. Daud Ali of the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the further development of friendly bilateral relations. For his part, Ambassador Daud Ali thanked for the warm welcome and cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
