Deputy Minister Todor Churov received copies of the credentials of the Ambassador of Nigeria

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Todor Churov accepted copies of the credential letters of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Federal Republic of Nigeria to Republic of Bulgaria based in Bucharest Safiya Ahmad Nuhu.

Deputy Minister Churov highlighted the traditionally good relations between Bulgaria and Nigeria, which is a key country for Bulgaria in Africa. The two countries expressed a desire to strengthen political dialogue, expand trade, economic, educational and cultural exchanges, which would further strengthen relations between Bulgaria and Nigeria. Opportunities for cooperation were discussed, including in the field of food industry, agriculture, information technology, education, science. The big growth of exports in the last year was noted, by about 40%, of goods from Bulgaria to Nigeria, which is a record for the last ten years.

Ambassador Nuhu also pointed out the good reputation of Bulgaria in Nigeria, thanks to the active educational and cultural exchange over the years. According to her, the citizens of Nigeria who graduated in Bulgaria are a starting point for deepening economic cooperation between the two countries.

Deputy Minister Churov wished success in the mission of Ambassador Nuhu, assuring her of the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Bulgaria.
