Ambassador Yanko Yordanov presented his credentials to the President of Nigeria

The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Bulgaria to the Federal Republic of Nigeria Yanko Yordanov presented his credentials to President Muhammadu Buhari at an official ceremony, which took place on June 1, 2021 at the State Palace in Abuja.

During the ceremony, which was also attended by the newly appointed ambassadors of the People's Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey and Ukraine, the Bulgarian diplomat was honoured to speak on behalf of all participating newly appointed Heads of Missions in Abuja. In his speech, Ambassador Yordanov reaffirmed his desire to build on traditional friendly relations with Nigeria by developing existing forms of cooperation and designing new initiatives of mutual interest.

In his speech, President Buhari assured of Nigeria’s readiness to continue to develop relations with the countries concerned on a mutually beneficial basis, including in order to address current global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and terrorism.
