Ekaterina Zaharieva receives the Minister of the Economy of the Republic of Turkey

‘In the economic relations between Bulgaria and Turkey we insist on practical cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest. We must focus on the positive aspects and seek new opportunities both for closeness between our business sectors and for increasing bilateral investments.’ Those were the words of Ekaterina Zaharieva, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Relations of the Republic of Bulgaria, to the visiting Minister of the Economy of the Republic of Turkey, Nihat Zeybekci.
The Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister noted that bilateral trade for the first three quarters of 2017 has amounted to 2.91 billion Euros, which marks an increase over the same period of 2016.
The two Ministers agreed that there exists a significant potential for strengthening the trade and economic cooperation between the priority sectors for both countries: energeticsand energeticsinfrastructure, investments, stockbreeding, transport and tourism.
The Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU is a great opportunity both for Bulgaria and for Turkey, Minister Zeybekci said for his part.
