Bulgarian film festival to bring enjoyment to Skopje residents and guests in February

A showing of the film Karatsi (Losers) by director Ivaylo Hristov marked, on February 1st, the opening day of the Bulgarian Film Month in Skopje. A guest of honor on the first day of the festival was Robert Alagjozovski, the Minister of Culture of Macedonia.

The initiative for organizing the event came from the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje, with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

On the opening day, Losers was presented by its director and screenwriter Ivaylo Hristov, the producer Asen Vladimirov and by Rosen Spassov, Deputy Director of the Bulgarian National Film Archive.

The panorama of Bulgarian films will continue for the residents and guests of Skopje until February 25th and will feature the films Maimuna (Monkey) by director Dimitar Kotsev-Shosho, Slava (Glory) by directors Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov, the documentary Drink Only Shumensko Beer (1940) by director Spas Totev, Mission London by director Dimitar Mitovski and other popular Bulgarian motion pictures.
