“Bulgaria is completely ready to take over the Presidency of the EU Council. What is most gratifying to us, among other things, is that other Member States of the Union have also embraced our priorities as their own. We are determined to work very hard for the European integration of the Western Balkans, which is evident from our active foreign policy towards the region,” Deputy Minister Georg Georgiev told 80 young people from the regions of Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo who toured the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
The youngsters had an opportunity to take an inside look at the Foreign Ministry, become familiar with the principal activity of the institution, talk to its representatives, and obtain first-hand information about a number of subtleties of diplomatic protocol and ceremonial.
Georg Georgiev stressed to the young people that one of the principal reasons why the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organising such tours is the Ministry’s desire to attract more young people to devote themselves to the diplomatic service and untiringly stand up for our country’s interests. “I urge you to be exceedingly exacting to yourself and to everything that mars our country’s reputation in one way or another. Our common duty is to make sure that Bulgaria emerges from the Presidency with an even better image. Those of you who are going to be volunteers over the next six months will have great responsibilities, but this also gives you an excellent opportunity to acquire invaluable experience,” Georg Georgiev told his guests.
