Bulgaria expresses its profound condolences to the relatives of the victims who died during a football match in Port Said on Wednesday.
We share the pain of the families of those killed in this absurd tragedy.
At the same time, we call for further efforts in the process of democratisation that began on January 25 2011, which must include reform of the security sectors.
We hope that Egypt’s political leadership, supported by the newly-elected Parliament, will take the action appropriate and necessary to address this critical situation.
Bulgaria stands ready to support efforts towards the success of democracy in Egypt.
