U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's visit to Bulgaria

On February 5 2012, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will visit Bulgaria at the invitation of Foreign Minister Nickolay Mladenov.

 

Among the main topics of discussions during Hillary Clinton’s visit will be bilateral co-operation between the U.S. and Bulgaria, the situation in the region of North Africa and the Middle East, the outlook for the countries of the Western Balkans, and energy security.

 

Details of the programme of the visit by the U.S. Secretary of State

 

It is expected that Mrs. Clinton will arrive at Sofia Airport at about noon on February 5 Sunday.

 

Media representatives wanting to attend the airport should give notice beforehand, by 5pm on February 3, to the e-mail address [email protected]. They should indicate their full names as recorded on their identity documents, the identity document number, EGN, and if arriving by car, the registration number, make and colour of the car. Due to enhanced security measures, camera people and photographers should be at the airport no later than 10.30am, and reporters no later than 11am. No exceptions will be made.

 

The U.S. Secretary of State’s first meeting will be with the President of the Republic, Rosen Plevneliev, at 1 Dondukov Boulevard. The programme continues with Secretary Clinton meeting Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Cabinet ministers at the Council of Ministers office.
