Statement by Foreign Minister Nickolay Mladenov on the elections in Morocco
Bulgaria welcomes the peaceful and successful conduct of the ahead-of-term parliamentary elections in Morocco on November 25. We appreciate the fact that elections were the result of reform measures taken by King Mohammed VI in response to the just demands of the Moroccan people.
We expect the newly elected parliament and future government, together with civil society, to continue to effectively implement democratic reforms.
Bulgaria will work with the new the government and will support Morocco's efforts to implement these reforms. Our efforts will be made both bilaterally and within the EU, where we will continue to participate in the formation of the European Neighbourhood Policy.
