The third meeting of the Joint Committee on the outstanding issues between Bulgaria and Turkey, held in Ankara, discussed material and social issues, energy and water infrastructure, the Rezovska river and cross-border issues in the southern Black Sea.
According to Deputy Minister Dimitar Tsanchev, who headed the Bulgarian delegation, the negotiations were held in a constructive atmosphere. There was some progress in the four groups of issues.
At the end of the meeting, Bulgarian and Turkish representatives agreed to continue negotiations on a package, at the next meeting, which will be held in Sofia.
Deputy Minister Tsanchev also held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Feridun Sinirlioglu. Apart from the situation in our region and the situation in North Africa, the two also discussed implementation of the first joint cabinet meeting between Bulgaria and Turkey, at the beginning of 2012.
